WELCOME TO FOOD+CLOTHING+SHELTER 129
Planet Earth has so many diverse cultures! But you can zero in on someone within a culture and learn much more about them as a unique individual by using the same criteria. For instance, the person who dresses flamboyantly usually has an outgoing personality and likes to be the center of attention. And the person who is adventurous with food is generally pretty adventurous in life.
And what about shelter? An organized, well-appointed home usually announces a neat, orderly person lives there. Dirty, messy living quarters most often indicate that home is probably not a priority. People who collect ethnic or exotic artifacts are generally travelers. And like clothing choices, a colorful, quirky person will usually have a colorful, quirky home...and a calm, orderly person will most likely live in a more quiet, minimalistic fashion.
Also, food, clothing and shelter are fairly accurate indicators of wealth...or lack thereof. Wealthy people normally wear clothing of a higher quality, eat in finer, more expensive restaurants, and live in pricier digs. Of course, there are always exceptions. But it's interesting to observe. And I am an observer.
However, I'm also a doer. I love going to coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, museums, and art galleries. I enjoy reading about fashion and beauty trends, and then adapting the ones that are relevant to my needs and lifestyle, with emphasis on quality and comfort. And as an artist and interior designer, I am particularly interested in art, home decor and architecture. I'm curious about how people choose to furnish and decorate their homes, what they like to collect, how they display their objects, etc.
I enjoy learning new things...love to read...to explore...to travel. I'm always up for a vacation to an exotic place...or a road trip to discover a cafe, farmer's market or antique shop in a nearby small town. But I also relish the ordinary, everyday experiences that often get overlooked. There is beauty and adventure everywhere...even in your own backyard!
This blog is my way of curating and sharing experiences, ideas and inspirations. I hope you will be inspired! Thanks for dropping by!
Oh, and you're probably wondering, "why 129?" Well, I was born at 1:29 pm...just in time for lunch...a sign of things to come...and, it's my lucky number!
