WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
I was an odd child. Loved the outdoors, riding horses, fishing with my dad, and climbing trees...all the way to the top. I was curious, wild, adventurous, fearless, and extroverted.
On the other hand...I enjoyed taking long walks alone in the woods, or lying on a grassy hill, watching the clouds form peculiar shapes and daydreaming of faraway places.
I liked to draw, and paint...and was inspired by Leonardo, Botticelli, van Gogh, and Picasso.
In junior high music appreciation class, I heard Beethoven's Ninth Symphony for the first time. My classmates were bored stiff. But I was so moved that I had to put my head down on my desk and pretend to be asleep, to hide the tears. It was so beautiful...
I was a voracious reader, and spent hours at the library during the Summer, reading books that were years ahead of my grade level. My favorites were Jane Eyre, Moby Dick, The Good Earth, and Siddhartha.
If I wasn't riding my bike or playing softball, I was lying on my bed reading a book, or looking at the latest issue of National Geographic.
In many ways I felt like I didn't fit in anywhere. But on the other hand, I felt like a citizen of the world.
I dreamed of living an exciting, bohemian lifestyle...traveling...eating exotic foods...meeting interesting people...seeing great art and architecture...and listening to beautiful music. That was my dream. That is my story...
What is your dream? Has your life experience lived up to your desires and expectations? If so, that's fabulous!! If not...what are you waiting for?
